VIEF (joint venture of Sensire and Business Models Inc.)
Healthcare start-up VIEF, a joint venture between Sensire and Business Models Inc., is on a mission to redesign how healthcare is delivered in the Netherlands. It is building a platform that connects consumers directly to the right healthcare provider based on personal needs, moving from vision to a piloted IT solution built with patients and partners.
The challenge
The Dutch healthcare system faces an aging population, staff shortages, rising waiting times and skyrocketing costs, creating an ever-growing care gap that demands a full system transformation. The vision was a platform business model that structures care around the demands and needs of patients and caregivers rather than organizations and professionals.
Our approach
The team interviewed patients, nurses, doctors and suppliers, then designed the patient experience by plotting future customer journeys and sketching the service blueprint. With a digital partner they built wireframes and a low-fidelity app, ran in-market experiments with patients and home care nurses, and launched a pilot with a small group of patients, professionals and product suppliers in the East of the Netherlands.
The results
- A working platform prototype validated with the two most important user groups.
- A running pilot delivering promising first results and data to improve the platform and service offering.
- Operations ramping up to scale, with the goal of delivering personalized healthcare to everyone in the Netherlands by 2025.
