NEP Media, a global leader in outsourced tele production services for events like the Super Bowl and Olympic Games, needed to transition from a product-centric to a service-oriented business model. Together with BMI, they launched six growth initiatives focused on innovative services, driving increased demand, sustainable growth, and stronger innovation capabilities.

NEP Media

The challenge

Traditional broadcasting and recording hardware had become commoditized, and the shift to non-traditional entertainment channels reduced demand for NEP's core products. The company needed to move beyond traditional tele production services and embrace new value spaces such as virtual and business events to differentiate in an increasingly competitive, saturated market.

Our approach

BMI ran a structured collaboration: assessing NEP's market position and identifying new value spaces, crafting a comprehensive service-oriented strategy, and launching six growth initiatives focused on innovative services. New service models were co-created and validated with continuous support and guidance for execution.

The results

  • Notable rise in demand for innovative services, particularly virtual and business events, driven by the six new growth initiatives.
  • A service-oriented business model that positioned NEP for long-term, sustainable growth in the evolving media landscape.
  • A culture of innovation, with teams equipped to drive future growth and manage new service offerings.
“Thanks to Business Models Inc., we were able to move from selling commodity products to a smooth working services model.”Ralf van Vegten, NEP Media Group

The method stayed with the team. It always does.
